Today is August 2nd 2011. Today, I saw my Nanny walking in front of me as I made my way to the train after work. My eyes instantly began to well up with tears (a big thanks to my trusty black-out sunglasses for camouflaging this private moment) as I watched her sway in her floral dress down the side street, flooded in warm sunlight, her hair still short from the treatments. She walked around the corner and I followed just behind, only to find nothing but an empty, shaded stretch of sidewalk in front of me. She's been gone for 12 years...
